Hello Panthers!
With week one complete, I hope your online learning is off to a great start! However, if you're feeling a bit overwhelmed, this might be a perfect time to take an art break. Not only does creating art allow the left side of our brains to take a breather but also helps students to build confidence, practice story telling, strengthen fine motor skills, problem solve, make decisions... just to name a few!
The 'theme' for our week two art, revolves around collage. Collage is a great way to introduce your student to using a variety of materials and mediums for making art! Listed on the K-2 and 3-5 lesson pages are introductions to what collage is, possible materials to use, collage project examples, videos, collage artists, and printable coloring sheets. Remember, the most important part of creating art is the process so please don't feel like you have to utilize every resource!
Lastly, I have been looking for a great way for Paris Ridge students to showcase the artwork they have been creating at home. This week, #parisridge_artists made its debut on Instagram! The page needs a few more followers and a lot more student artwork postings. Please upload student artwork by tagging your photos @parisridge_artists and adding the hashtag #parisridge_artists. Video how-to coming soon!
I looking forward to seeing your creativity Panthers!
