Hello Panthers!
Hopefully you are all staying healthy and creative during our time away from school! As we are transitioning from our classroom to online learning, I wanted to share some information with parents on how to help your child/ children to create art at home! Parents, please check out the 'resources for parents' link under the 'resources and more' tab at the top of this page.
As we are all new to distance learning (and I'm sure a bit overwhelmed!) please do not feel that you have to go through every resource! My goal for week one learning is to let parents familiarize themselves with different aspects of thinking about art and how/ why we create it. Visual Thinking Strategies are a great way to simply have a conversation with your child/ children about an artwork without worrying about "right" or "wrong" answers. There are galleries for each grade level to allow your child/ children to view and talk about age appropriate artwork. Even if you're not totally comfortable about your art strengths or talking about art, that's OK! Take a chance and start small this week by trying out a VTS 'session'!
Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions!
